Do you enjoy hands-on tech puzzles and want to learn both manual testing and test automation in a down-to-earth FinTech team? And to learn from experienced collega

Job description

We’re looking for an eager junior to join our crew as Junior Test Engineer. You’ll help design and execute real-world banking test journeys and grow step-by-step into automation, guided by experienced Manual & Test Automation Engineers.

You’ll start with manual and exploratory testing: walking through banking journeys as a “friendly customer”, spotting issues, documenting what happens and feeding back clear insights. From there, we’ll teach you how to translate these journeys into automated tests and how to work with our platform, tools and robots.

You don’t have to be a testing expert yet. We’re looking for someone who loves tech, is curious, careful, and wants to learn the craft of testing in a professional, yet relaxed environment.

Who is WTSS

Banks process millions of transactions every single day. In our modern world, they’re absolutely essential. That’s why identifying, assessing, and solving incidents as quickly as possible is critical for them. And that’s where WTSS comes in.

WTSS is an independent FinTech partner to banks around the globe. We act as a friendly, patient, and risk-free pilot customer, so banks don’t have to test on their real clients. We design structured test journeys (manual and automated) across all possible environments to catch and fix issues before they turn into major risks.

We’re a small, highly technical team of 15, supporting some of the world’s biggest banks. All from our HQ in Rotterdam. We call ourselves ethical techies: curious tech savys who love breaking things, just so we can build them back up, but than better. Incidents don’t impress us. Because of our passion and knowledge about the things we do, we create great value when things don't go as expected.

As our junior test colleague you’ll be surrounded by senior engineers, given lots of freedom, and encouraged to innovate wherever you see opportunities.

So what will you be doing?

You’ll learn the testing craft by doing, with guidance. In practice, this means you will:

  • Design and run real-world test journeys

  • Pilot and validate new journeys help check designs before we scale up automation

  • Configure our platform and hardware for testing

  • Document and report findings: describe what you see in a structured way to our clients

  • Grow into test automation: you will learn how our journeys become scripts, and get hands-on with automation tools under guidance from senior colleagues. Not only by learning test frameworks, but all that is needed to become a real test professional

Expect a steep learning curve, lots of variety and a clear growth path towards test automation and more responsibility.

Do you love tech as much as we do?

You’ll be joining a team of people who simply love tech. We’re the ones our families call when the printer won’t connect or the WiFi suddenly disappears. Some of us install a fresh OS on a Saturday just for fun. Voluntarily.

If you’ve got that same curiosity for new tools, languages, and tinkering, we’d love to hear from you.

What we hope you bring:

  • Bachelor (HBO+) level of thinking. The exact diploma matters less than how you think and learn

  • Affinity with software, IT or digital products. Maybe you’ve tested apps, built small tools, or just love breaking and fixing things

  • Careful, structured way of working: you like to follow steps precisely and spot small differences

  • Curiosity about banking, payments, security or FinTech is a big plus

What we offer:

  • A good salary!

  • Start with a 1-year contract, working towards a permanent contract

  • A diverse role in a growing, tech-minded, no-nonsense team
